Corporate blogs get a pat on the head from Grandpa TV news

This news clip on corporate blogging from MSNBC is entertaining for two reasons…on a serious note, mainstream media is actually giving airtime to blogs.

On a less serious note, the story runs with the genial yet condescending tone of a 1940s radio host introducing television to an elementary school class. The presenter thinks it’s a cute diversion, while the audience is ten years ahead of him. The clip gets an even bigger comic nudge from the fact that it’s being adopted by bloggers as evidence of their (our) growing influence.

My favorite line is the lead: “The vast space known as the “world wide web” — the Internet — can sometimes seem like the wild west, especially the blogs.”

Saddle up!
